If you are considering learning to fly a RC helicopter or if you already own one and are looking to improve your flying skills, then using the realism of RCFS coupled with the SimStar interface controller is sure to greatly speed up your learning curve while reducing the risk for crashing. When flying a Heli the pilot must think in three dimensions.

The aircraft can move in almost all directions. The amazing flexibility of helicopters is even more difficult when flying radio control helicopters since the aircraft can fly upside-down, loop and make many other maneuvers a real helicopters pilot
will never try to perform.

Helicopter pilots / flyers should have good coordination skills and so it is highly recommended that one would use a simulator for the initial training.

A great challenge is flying nose-in which requires high mental training since now the controls will reverse from the mental point of view of the flyer. Many times crashes are a direct result
of an accelerated mistaken stick adjustments. For example a flyer will apply some left rudder when he should apply a right rudder due to nose in hovering. The flyer will continue and apply more and more left rudder thinking he is applying the correct stick adjustment when in fact the flyer is applying the exact opposite adjustment, this of course will lead to a crash.

However, don't be discouraged. Practice makes perfect and with enough practice you will be able to first hover, then roll and eventually do nose ins, inverts and much more. Once you master Helicopter flight you will be very proud of the accomplished challenge. Just remember, the key to success is practicing and the flight simulator is an key tool in your flight training. It will greatly assist you in developing the necessary skills to master this amazing hobby !!!

The Sim combines excellent graphics with realistic flying to give you the best of both worlds.
Fly any of a wide cross section of today’s more popular models. Customize any model’s control sensitivities, stability, airfoil, propeller, weight, and many other parameters including graphic size.
All models feature real engine sounds recorded from actual R/C engines.

Helicopter pilots can fly models which feature auto-rotation, adjustable pitch curves, adjustable throttle curves, gear ratios, and more. Choose from four actual flying fields; all photorealistic including the AMA site at Muncie, Indiana. This immersive, three-dimensional world allows you to walk around and fly standing exactly where you want to. You can set the wind conditions, and even add fog or additional clouds to more closely match what you might encounter at the field.

With a keystroke, bring up the Altitude Reference Dome which shows just where the model is relative to your position. Improved zoom feature allows you to easily see your model no matter where you are flying. Real-time satellite view and on-screen readouts give you exact model position.
The limbo pole and pylon course are also included - with collision detection.
