Voltage Step Down for Helicopter Tail Servo 5.3 volts

By Duralite

The Duralite Flight Systems 5.3 Volt Step Down for Helicopter Tail Servos is an economical and light weight option for pilots who want to use a 6 volt regulated power supply in a helicopter while not effecting the operation of the gyro. A 6 volt regulated power source is required. This step down has been tested and is recommended for use with Futaba 9241, 9251, 9253, 9254, 9255, 9256 servos. The difference between a regulator and this step down is that the step down is designed to operate on a 6 volt power supply and to step down the voltage to 5.3 volts. It will always be .7 volts lower than your 6 volt power source. Duralite Lithium ions or polymers operating at 7.4 volts while using a 6 volt regulator will always ensure that the step down is operating at 5.3 volts. This step down is not recommended for NiCad or NiMH use as the terminal voltage may not always be at 6 volts. Example: If a 5 cell NiCad or NiMH drops to 5.8 volts then the step down would operate at 5.1 volts as it always operates at .7 of a volt less than the power supply. A regulator in turn would continue to operate at 5.3 volts until the pack dropped below that voltage.

- Specifications: 6.75 inches long (170 mm) .2 of an ounce (5 grams)
- INSTALLATION:
- There are two ways this step down can be installed;
- a) Connect the step down directly to your tail servo lead. This method will supply 5.3 volts to your tail servo while the rest of your helicopter operates at 6 volts including the gyro.
- b) Plug the step down into your receiver and then into your gyro. This method will supply 5.3 volts to your gyro and tail servo while the rest of your helicopter operates at 6 volts.

Parkflyer Switch-mode BEC 6V

Battery Eliminator circuitry

The ParkBEC 6V is the 6 volt output version of our ParkBEC, the smallest and lightest switch-mode BEC on the market. It weighs only 6.5g (4.4g without wires) and is designed for running parkflyer type aircraft with pack voltages up to 33.6V. It can support as many as six sub-micro servos. The 6 volt output option will give you more servo speed and torque than the 5v version, at the cost of somewhat increased power consumption. It uses a switching type power supply to efficiently convert high pack voltages into a steady 6 volts. If you are using small servos, please make sure that they can be run from 6v. Some sub-micros, notably the Hitec HS-50, can be damaged by a 6v supply. It is especially well suited for small helicopters and 3d planes, where extra response speed or torque are needed. The ParkBEC installs between your ESC and receiver. You don't have to modify your speed control to disable its internal BEC, just plug the ESC into the ParkBEC 6V. The ParkBEC 6V is designed for use with lithium aware ESCs. If your ESC does not have a setting for high voltage lithium packs, please use the Dimension Engineering SmartBEC which includes an integrated lithium cutoff to protect your flight pack. For best results, ensure that the ParkBEC 6V is installed at least 2 inches away from your receiver. ParkBEC 6V is not compatible with 2s lithium packs.

Brush2Less Converter

Keep your 4 in 1 controler

The Brushed2Less controller allows you to turn your brushed RC system into a more powerful brushless one. It is great for upgrading ready to fly Helis such as the Blade CP and CX. The real advantage of this system is that it allows you to keep your current 4 in 1 ( Tail Speed controller, Receiver, Gyro and BEC ) system in place. In other words, you can keep your Piccoboard ( all in one system ) which comes pre installed on your Helicopter ( such as the Blade CP / CX / Honey Bee and others ) and simply piggy back a Brushless Speed controller and BL motor. You do not need a more sophisticated transmitter with this cool conversion. In order to complete the upgrade you must purchase 3 things:
(1) A Brushed2Less ESC
(2) A brushless Motor
(3) A brushless Speed controller. However there is no need to buy a separate ESC for the tail and there is no need to order a separate gyro, receiver or anything else. See the instructions below.

Parkflyer Switch-mode BEC 5V

Battery Eliminator circuitry

The ParkBEC is the smallest and lightest switch-mode BEC on the market. ParkBEC is especially designed for running parkflyer type aircraft with high pack voltages and as many as six sub-micro servos without worrying about an overheating BEC. ParkBEC is often a necessity at 4s and above. Many people don't realise that their ESC's BEC rating is misleading. With the linear BEC built into most speed controls, the current rating decreases as pack voltage increases. For example, several popular 25A ESCs with 3A BECs are only capable of supplying 0.5A when running from a 3s pack. Because it is an efficient switching regulator, ParkBEC can supply its full rated current of 1.25A all the way up to 8s. ParkBEC was carefully designed to not create radio interference. It uses a shielded inductor and optimised layout, so you can use it without fear of glitching. The ParkBEC installs between your ESC and receiver, so you don't have to modify your speed control to disable its internal BEC. Just plug ParkBEC in! ParkBEC is designed for use with lithium aware ESCs. If your ESC does not have a setting for high voltage lithium packs, please use the Dimension Engineering SmartBEC which includes an integrated lithium cutoff to protect your flight pack. For best results, ensure that the ParkBEC is installed at least 2 inches away from your receiver and antenna.
