Does AeroFly Professional work with Windows XP or Windows 2000 ?
Yes it does. However Windows XP and 2000 are not being shipped with OpenGL hardware accelerated graphic drivers. Before running AeroFly Professional, install a driver with OpenGL support. Check our list of manufacturer websites.
Does AeroFly Professional work on laptops ?
Yes it does, on some laptops. So far we can only recommend laptops for AeroFly Professional with a full 3D graphic chip. Laptops with a GeForce2Go or ATI Mobility Radeon will work fine. The CPU speeds of these laptops should be over 800Mhz.
The program freezes or suddenly stops without an error message.
If you experience occasional program freezes without an error message then in 95% of the time it is a problem with the video card drivers. Update your drivers and see if the problem goes away. It can also be an overheating problem in the computer or card incompatibilities. Ensure your computer is properly vented.
The problem may also be sound card drivers. Update your drivers and see if the problem goes away
System Requirenents
Due to the detailed 3D graphics and the time consuming physics simulation it is highly recommended that your computer system matches the following requirements to achieve a smooth simulation speed. Please also read our special section about graphic cards right here. Using the right combination of CPU and 3D graphic card is important. You won’t see any performance difference between a AMD Athlon 800Mhz and an AMD Athlon XP 1600 in combination with a Nvidia GeForce2 MX 200 when using AeroFly Professional. This card will block all CPU’s faster than 800Mhz.
Minimum
100% Pentium II compatible processor with at least 450Mhz 64MB RAM 160MB free hard disc memory CD-ROM drive OpenGL ICD compatible graphic card with at least 16MB (also read here) 100% DirectX compatible sound card Windows 98/ME/2000/XP with DirectX version 8.0a or higher A free serial port (COM port) and a trainer output on your transmitter
Optimum
Pentium II or III with 700Mhz AMD Athlon with 700Mhz 128MB RAM OpenGL ICD compatible graphic card with 32MB Supported transmitters
Graupner (FM314, MC10, MC12, MC16/20, MC18, MC22, MC24, ...) JR Multiplex (2020,3030, 4040) Sanwa Robbe Futaba (F14, FC16, FC18, FC28, ...) and the new Futaba FX-18 HITEC
Which Video Card should be used:
Please note that the amount of memory of a 3D graphic card does not necessarily reflect the overall performance of the card. Especially the Nvidia GeForce2 MX range of graphic chips have huge performance differences. The Geforce2 MX 200 has only half the memory bandwith of the GeForce2 MX 400 card and we do not recommend this card for use with AeroFly Professional.
Recommended Graphic cards
Nvidia GeForce2 Ti/Ultra/Pro/MX 400/256 Nvidia GeForce3 and GeForce 4 Ati Radeon The following cards are not recommend for use with AeroFly Professional
Nvidia GeForce2 MX 200 (even the 64MB cards are not worth their money, these cards are even slower than the older Nvidia TNT2) Nvidia Riva128 ATI XPert ATI All In Wonder ATI Rage 3dfx Voodoo1, Voodoo2, Voodoo3, Banshee
