The new Align Trex 450 Sport is one of two new releases by Align R/C, the other being the Align Trex 450 Pro. This is the full combo version with cyclic servos, tail servo, gyro and basically everything you need besides transmitter, receiver and flight battery pack. The Align Trex 450 Sport is actually the continued version of the previously well tested Align Trex 450 XL versions. The rotor holder is longer than previous versions and updated mixing has been introduced to make this helicopter more stable and more precise than ever!

All of us here at HeliHobby are pilots and have flown both of the latest releases by Align in the 450 class. We unanimously agree the Trex 450 Sport is the correct choice for beginners seeking a 400 class heli but our opinions on which is the better 3D helicopter is an even split among the pilots here. We do agree that both of these helicopters out fly every other 450 in its class with the major points being stability and precision.

The Align Trex 450 Pro is a brand new design incorporating single stacked frames, one piece mainmast and servo mounting blocks and a torque tube driven tail to highlight some of the changes. This helicopter was designed and built for 3D and the professional pilot in mind, it doesn’t come with flybar weights or any of the new comer items you see in other models. This heli is hardcore 3D ready from the gate!

Although you may tone this helicopter down to be tame, stable and forgiving we do not typically recommend this helicopter to beginners due to the torque tube gears being so vulnerable if you hit your tail blades when landing. As a note 50% of the pilots here believe this is the best flying 3D helicopter in the 450 class, the remaining 50% chose the Trex 450 Sport as the best for 3D. We need a tie breaker are you in?

The Align Trex 450 Sport is the completely redesigned 450 V2. It sports a full CNC aluminum rotor head, bearing blocks, tail rotor and frame fitting components. The stacked frames are carbon fiber, the servos are superior digital metal gear servos including the tail servo and the gyro is the well proven GP750 gyro. It also maintains the belt driven tail keeping most tail blade strike damage isolated to the tail blades. This helicopter flies absolutely amazing and quite frankly take crashes just as well but those are only a couple of the reasons to choose this heli. The parts are readily available and cheap, there is so much support for the helicopter almost anywhere in the world and repairs are done easily in most cases not even having to setup anything again! You have your choose of this package with the Spektrum DX6i 2.4GHz radio or the Futaba 7C 2.4GHz radio.

The Trex 450 Pro was designed and built for 3D perfomance where it excels in precission and stability of flight for such a small aircraft. Combining this package with the Futaba 8 CH Fasst give you all the flexibility of the programming features of the Futaba series radios. The Trex 450 Pro does also make an excellent scale chasis with it's single stacked frames and torque tube which can ultimately be modified. This is a specialized package and a this discount price is also special, if you are interested in this combo now would be an excellent time to buy!
