Tcl comes built in with commands for serial communication. Com ports can be opened and characters cab be streamed in and out of the open port. This package relies on RS232 to communicate to a chip manufactured by FerretTronics. The chip is controlled via 1 byte communication instructions which make Tcl an ideal development language to accomplish such RS232 instruction sets. The object file includes instruction sets specific for the 639 chip but can be easily migrated into any type of RS232 communication procedures. |

On the left you see a picture of a home made web camera which is fully controlled over the Internet. The camera movements, light and ringer are all controlled using RC servos. The servos are connected to a Linux host and a Tcl daemon uses Tcp sockets to instruct one tick servo movements to control the camera direction. |
